An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a leading professional services firm in East Sussex. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Accounting & Finance, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous professional development.

About the Role

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.
  2. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to identify and address any financial irregularities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  4. Manage tax returns and ensure timely payment of taxes, minimizing any potential liabilities.
  5. Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to optimize financial operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  6. Stay abreast of industry trends, changes in laws and regulations, and emerging best practices in accounting and finance.

Requirements

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

  1. Qualified or part-qualified accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
  2. A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and knowledge of relevant accounting software.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex numerical data.
