Role Overview- Formulate effective transport strategies and oversee resources to fulfill customer and business needs.
- Lead Branch Sales Managers and set targets that align with organizational goals.
- Support team members in achieving financial and operational objectives while ensuring adherence to company and transport regulations.
- Oversee vehicle sourcing and reservations in accordance with company protocols.
- Coordinate resources (vehicles, drivers) to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Negotiate rates with subcontracted drivers and develop a reliable reference portfolio.
- Design efficient transport strategies guided by the operational framework.
- Maintain consistent communication with drivers and monitor progress using Navigator analysis.
- Supervise the internal tracking system and ensure data integrity.
- Establish and meet targets related to profit margins, costs, and resource utilization.
- Review customer allocations, optimize equipment deployment, and guarantee timely deliveries.
- Engage with customer service and drivers to uphold customer satisfaction.
- Manage daily office operations effectively.
- Valid Full Driving License.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- At least 3 years of experience in the UK transport industry and business development.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes, service delivery, and cost management.
- Experience in team leadership, motivation, and goal-setting.
- Knowledge of the UK van market.
