As an Offshore Wind Cable Engineer, you will lead and coordinate electrical engineering deliverables for the development and construction of offshore wind energy projects within the organization.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct front-end electrical engineering design tasks related to HV and EHV land and subsea cable networks for project consenting and financial modeling.
  • Develop electrical package contract documentation, including the management and preparation of cable specifications.
  • Write, review, and update technical specifications for electrical cable work packages on offshore wind projects.
  • Coordinate and manage project electrical cable engineering tasks, ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
  • Review external contractors' and consultants' specifications and documentation for the procurement of long lead equipment, ensuring compliance with organizational requirements.
  • Manage third-party contributions, ensuring effective delivery of engineering and design tasks within the cable work package, along with quality management and verification of their outputs.

What do I need?

We seek an experienced and motivated HV and EHV Cable Engineer with proven expertise in the design, installation, commissioning, and fault analysis of land and subsea cable networks up to 400kV. A background in offshore wind farm projects, specializing in cable networks, is preferred.

You should be a Chartered Engineer or working towards this qualification, possessing strong technical knowledge and experience in renewable electricity generation, particularly in offshore wind generation cable systems.

Familiarity with relevant engineering legislation and industry best practices is essential, along with an understanding of the organizational capabilities necessary to deliver quality work within agreed timelines.

Excellent commercial awareness is crucial to comprehend the implications of engineering activities and decisions. Strong organizational skills and the ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines are vital.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively engage with various managerial levels within the organization.
