We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced On-Screen Journalist to join our team at ITV News North West. As a key member of our news operation, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging content to our audiences across Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver daily newsgathering and reporting to air, with a focus on original and exclusive content.
- Build and maintain a network of contacts within the community to source and bring to air compelling stories.
- Work across a wide geographical area, covering breaking news and developing in-depth features.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the North West bureau's content and editorial considerations.
- Collaborate with the team to create engaging and impactful output, including self-shooting and self-editing.
- Conduct live performances and interviews, with a focus on creating strong visual narratives.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory compliance, media law, and health and safety guidelines, and apply them in your work.
- Proven track record in delivering quality daily newsgathering and reporting.
- Ability to source and bring to air original journalism, with a focus on exclusive content.
- Confident live performer, with excellent editorial mindset and self-shooting skills.
- Strong understanding of content that matters to the North West bureau, with a focus on engaging audiences.
- Knowledge of editorial considerations, regulatory compliance, media law, and health and safety guidelines.
- A high-level understanding of main stories produced by the North West bureau.
- Excellent editorial mindset, with a focus on creating engaging and impactful output.
- A self-starter who can dig out the most impactful journalism from a patch.
- An accomplished operator who can create the strongest visual narrative.
- Multiplatform skills to create and adapt content as necessary.
- Good knowledge of audiences and engagement in our diversity and inclusion plans.
- A full understanding and ability to apply regulatory compliance, media law, and health and safety guidelines.
- A committed professional who will support the output and the team.
