Position Title: Field Service Engineer (Electrical or HVAC Bias)

Role Overview:
The role involves providing essential engineering support across various sites, ensuring optimal environmental conditions are maintained for critical building systems. The successful candidate will be tasked with executing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), addressing reactive issues, and managing breakdowns for all mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Traveling to designated sites as required, necessitating a valid UK driving license.
  • Conducting routine PPM in accordance with established schedules and asset lists.
  • Addressing reactive maintenance tasks promptly and proactively identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensuring that any faults or defects in plant equipment are swiftly resolved to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Coordinating the availability of necessary spare parts for maintenance and reactive tasks.
  • Completing all relevant documentation related to PPM and reactive works, ensuring timely submission to the contract administrator.
  • Preparing Method Statements and Risk Assessments to uphold safe working practices.
  • Fostering positive relationships with CBRE staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, including adherence to uniform and PPE requirements.
  • Upholding the professional image of CBRE Managed Services at all times.
  • Keeping accurate shift logs and ensuring cleanliness and security of plant rooms.
  • Supervising subcontractor activities during maintenance operations.
  • Providing flexible cover for holidays and sickness as needed.
  • Completing assigned tasks with a strong focus on health and safety compliance.
  • Maintaining awareness of contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Utilizing the Computer Based Maintenance system to ensure accurate data capture for PPM and reactive tasks.
  • Operating within a Permit to Work System in line with CBRE's Quality and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Assisting with holiday and emergency cover as required.
  • Performing any additional tasks as directed by the account management team.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • A solid educational background with proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • CITY AND GUILDS qualification in a relevant discipline.
Skills:
  • Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Sound decision-making capabilities.
  • Physical fitness to handle tools and components weighing up to 20kg.
  • Capability to work at heights and utilize vertical access equipment.
  • Team-oriented mindset, collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of general building operations, diagnostic and repair procedures, and maintenance schedules.
  • Formal training in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Experience in mechanical commissioning.
  • Health and Safety qualifications, such as IOSH.
  • Knowledge of UPS, Generators, and related systems, with the ability to troubleshoot using graphical information and alarm data.
  • Understanding of the distinction between maintainable assets and those managed by BPL in laboratory and production settings.
Experience:
  • Proven mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to defined standards.
  • Broad knowledge of building services systems and maintenance protocols.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to provide flexible cover for holidays and sickness.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
