Role Overview:
The role of the Field Service Engineer is crucial in maintaining optimal environmental conditions within critical building systems. The selected candidate will be tasked with executing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), addressing reactive issues, and managing breakdowns for all mechanical and electrical systems across various sites.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Traveling to various sites as required, necessitating a valid UK driving license.
  • Conducting routine PPM in accordance with established schedules and asset lists.
  • Addressing reactive maintenance tasks promptly and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensuring that all plant faults and defects are resolved swiftly to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Coordinating the availability of necessary spare parts for maintenance and reactive tasks.
  • Completing all relevant documentation for PPM, reactive, and breakdown activities in a timely manner.
  • Preparing Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
  • Building strong working relationships with CBRE staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, including adherence to uniform and PPE requirements.
  • Upholding the professional image of CBRE Managed Services at all times.
  • Keeping accurate shift logs and ensuring cleanliness and security of plant rooms.
  • Supervising subcontractor activities during maintenance tasks.
  • Providing flexible cover for holidays and sickness as needed.
  • Completing assigned tasks with a strong focus on health and safety compliance.
  • Maintaining awareness of contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Updating the Computer Based Maintenance system with accurate data.
  • Operating within a Permit to Work System in line with quality and safety procedures.
  • Assisting with holiday and emergency cover as required.
  • Performing any additional tasks as directed by the management team.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • A solid educational background with proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • CITY AND GUILDS qualification in a relevant discipline.
Skills:
  • Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Physical fitness to handle tools and components weighing up to 20kg.
  • Capability to work at heights and use vertical access equipment.
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of general building maintenance, diagnostic procedures, and repair protocols.
  • Formal training in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Experience in mechanical commissioning.
  • Health and Safety qualifications, such as IOSH.
  • Knowledge of UPS, Generators, and related systems, with the ability to troubleshoot using graphical information and alarm data.
Experience:
  • Proven mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to defined standards.
  • Solid understanding of building services systems and maintenance schedules.
Work Conditions:
  • Willingness to provide flexible cover for holidays and sickness.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
