Scientist/Senior Scientist, Technology Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist/Senior Scientist to join our Technology Development team at Centre for Process Innovation Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering technical projects, working across multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative bioproducts and bioprocesses.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a network of internal stakeholders to represent the team and contribute to business development and bid proposal activities.
- Support in the development of proposal/project plans and contribute to direct customer engagement.
- Present and formally report experimental conclusions and supporting data for internal peer review and submission to clients.
- Set up, plan, and execute experimental/pilot scale runs and analyze, interpret, and report the results within agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Provide clearly documented records of technical data, decisions, methodologies, calculations, and software use in an agreed format.
- Take ownership of agreeing weekly workplans with line manager, project manager(s), and other relevant stakeholders, and deliver the plan to agreed schedule.
- Contribute to the continuous design and technical expertise of downstream processing within the DSP team via internal projects to increase knowledge/capability for greater client offering.
- Work within the technical area of Wilton laboratories performing experimental work and generating technical data for downstream development programmes in line with CPI strategy and collaborative R&D/commercial demand.
- Collaborate with the laboratory, pilot/demonstration facilities at Wilton and other business areas/technology teams to deliver internal and external projects.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the DSP laboratory at Wilton via input to laboratory and equipment maintenance programmes.
- Provide support to senior colleagues to develop technical plans for internal and external R&D/commercial projects.
- Education to a minimum level of HNC/Foundation degree (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Engineering discipline with relevant industrial experience, or alternatively, educated to Degree in one of these disciplines with relevant industrial experience.
- Experience of working in one or more of the following biotechnology sectors: food & feed, agritech, healthcare & biopharmaceuticals.
- Hold experience of process development and carrying out data analysis.
- Hold experience of performing techniques for the purification of biobased feedstocks and protein analysis.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge in Biochemistry, Biological Separation/Purification, Biochemical Engineering, and relevant analytical techniques.
- Understanding of the biochemistry across a range of different biological products including proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and platform biochemicals.
- Experience of application of techniques for the analysis of these biological products.
- Experience of downstream processing unit operations at laboratory scale.
