Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Tester with strong SQL skills to join our team at InterQuest Group on a fully remote, contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and performance of business intelligence solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models.
  • Test BI solutions including data models, reports, and dashboards for accuracy, performance, and user experience.
  • Validate that the data is consistent, reliable, and meets the business requirements.
  • Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity across different data layers, including the Data Warehouse, access layers, and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify testing needs, and provide feedback on BI solutions.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the BI environment, ensuring that all components of the solution are tested thoroughly.
  • Produce detailed testing documentation, including test results, issues identified, and recommendations for resolution.
  • Ensure that stakeholders are kept informed of testing progress and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in testing Business Intelligence solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and execute complex queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of BI Tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent, and experience in testing their outputs.
  • Experience with Data Warehousing and the ability to validate data at various stages of the data pipeline.
  • Analytical mindset to identify discrepancies and ensure the data presented to stakeholders is accurate and reliable.
Preferred Skills:
  • Financial services experience with a solid understanding of financial data, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Python knowledge for automating testing processes or performing data manipulation.
  • Cloud platform familiarity such as Azure or AWS for working with data warehousing solutions.
