The Role
As a Product Innovation Specialist, you will be a vital member of the UK Research & Development team, primarily focusing on our popcorn brands, Butterkist and popchips. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative snack products that resonate with consumers.
- Engaging with an international R&D community to enhance our technical expertise and consumer insights, leading to the development of preferred product designs.
- Partnering with marketing, commercial, and supply chain teams to bring products from concept through to market launch.
- Conducting product development and prototyping at the bench level, advancing successful designs to pilot and factory trial stages.
- Working alongside site operations teams to plan and execute product development trials and initial production runs, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and legal standards while achieving cost and efficiency targets.
- Assisting in the creation of prototype samples for stakeholders, maintaining high standards and completing necessary documentation.
- Continuously optimizing our product portfolio concerning food safety, quality, compliance, and value engineering, while supporting our sustainability goals.
- Aiding in the advancement of R&D strategy and capability initiatives, including benchmarking and technical knowledge development.
- Representing the R&D function during customer and supplier site visits when opportunities arise.
- Upholding best practices in R&D processes, ensuring adherence to established protocols and thorough documentation of product development activities.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience.
