About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Sous Chef to join our team at The Scott Hotel, part of the University of Edinburgh's hotel collection. As a key member of our brigade, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of the kitchen, working with the freshest foraged Scottish produce to create a seasonal and sustainable menu.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu creation and development, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for our guests.
  • Lead a team of chefs in the kitchen, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to Health and Safety legislation.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to achieve exceptional service standards, ensuring timely and efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with modern food trends and cooking techniques, applying this knowledge to enhance our menu offerings.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary of £27,979 - £32,332 per annum, plus an additional 15% premium band for working variable shifts and weekends.
