Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and driven HGV Technician to fulfill the role of Yard Technician within our dynamic organization. This position entails conducting repairs and inspections on our fleet of HGV vehicles and trailers within our yard.
Located at our superhub in Hinckley, this role provides an opportunity to contribute to the UK's foremost parcel delivery service. The successful candidate will work day shifts following a 4 on 4 off continental pattern.
As a key member of the team, reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing minor repairs on DPD's fleet of Mercedes Benz tractor and trailer units.
- Conducting mechanical and electrical repairs on vehicles.
To be considered for this role, you should possess experience in a similar Heavy Goods or Heavy Plant position, or have familiarity with yellow goods repairs. Ideally, you will hold a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or be a time-served technician.
Knowledge of working with vehicles from manufacturers such as Mercedes, DAF, Dennis, Volvo, and Renault is essential. You must embody DPD's core values: Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring, and Accountability.
While an irtech licence qualification is advantageous, it is not mandatory, as we offer opportunities for further accreditation.

Role Specifics
A comprehensive induction program will be provided, covering all working practices and including attendance at our Corporate Induction.
While a HGV Class 1 Driving Licence is desirable, it is not a requirement for this position.
