Job Title: Autism School Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive educational environment for children with autism.

Position Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with lead teachers to support the learning, social development, and well-being of children with autism. Your role will involve assisting with individualized instruction, supporting students in developing communication and life skills, and maintaining a calm and organized classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with lead teachers to deliver tailored instruction and support students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, and life skills through structured activities and one-on-one guidance.
  • Help manage the classroom environment to ensure a safe and inclusive space for all students.
  • Provide students with support during transitions and assist with personal care needs as required.
  • Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques to support students in meeting their behavioural and academic goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to monitor and assess student progress.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions to stay informed about best practices in autism support.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require the appropriate qualifications and training for working with children with autism. You will also need to be passionate about empowering children with autism to thrive in both academic and social aspects of life.
