About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea, a leading engineering consultancy with a creative team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver designs for a range of project types and sizes, working within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff.
  • Design mechanical engineering systems at the highest level using the latest software design packages.
  • Lead mechanical services design on large projects and take the overall lead on small to medium-sized projects within the office.
  • Develop initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work, either alone or as part of a team.
  • Engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance to ensure they develop their skills.
  • Work with the team leader to monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered.
  • Look for new ways of working and take time out for innovation and research to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Maintain a high reputation within the local industry and ensure adherence to quality management and risk control procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment with excellent communication skills and a team-based work approach.
  • Experience across a range of projects, with a focus on workplace projects.
  • Ability to appreciate holistic working and design principles.
