English Teacher Job Opportunity in Christchurch

GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join a local secondary school in Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching English literature and language, and a commitment to creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for assessments and future academic challenges.
  2. Implement differentiated teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom, promoting student growth and achievement.
  3. Utilise innovative and interactive teaching methods, incorporating technology and real-world applications to make English literature and language studies relevant and captivating for students.
  4. Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth, and collaborate with colleagues to analyse assessment data and refine teaching practices.
  5. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for literature and language, promoting respectful behaviour among students.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification in English.
  • PGCE/QTS/QTLS
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with and commitment to the principles of the school's curriculum.
