Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Team Leader to join our team at McCormick & Company. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for leading the materials inventory management process, ensuring the balance between service level and cash, in line with business yearly targets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management
    • Own and manage the materials inventory level to guarantee the balance between service level and cash, in line with business yearly targets.
  • Leadership and Oversight
    • Provide leadership and oversight to all facets of the materials management process, including materials purchasing planning, product life cycle change management, disposals, risk and SLOB management, and master data governance.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify and implement improvements to working practices to improve efficiency, performance, and reliability in the materials planning processes.
  • Strategic Planning
    • Responsible for the tactical and strategic factory materials and inventory plans, set targets, manage year-on-year stock value/inventory turnover improvements to support UK Supply Chain targets.
  • Team Development
    • Oversee the development and coaching of departmental team members, develop individual goals for direct reports, and ensure alignment to functional OGSM's.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration
    • Build bench strength in materials management, using SAP MRP.
    • Represent Materials planning on local, regional, and global projects, with regard to Commercialization, CCI, and engineering changes.
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with NPD, procurement, and supply functions to ensure the monthly planning cycle delivers for the business and has the right level of governance across the end-to-end process.
  • Supply Chain Risk Management
    • Identify from the long-term plan any capacity or supply gap and inventory strategy.
    • Manage significant material availability challenges and lead communication to business contacts across impacted customers.
  • Business Continuity
    • Collaborate with procurement on business continuity plans for key strategic suppliers or capacity-constrained suppliers.
  • Service Level Execution
    • Develop and own Service Level execution agreements with key strategic suppliers to drive cost, cash, and service performance.
  • Capability Framework
    • Implement Material Supply Management Capability framework, including materials strategic master planning.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain or a related business field.
  • Experience
    • Experience of working within a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
    • Ability and experience in working internationally, across multiple business units.
    • Experience of working with SAP and associated business systems.
    • Ability to analyze data and develop recommendations and solutions.
  • Skills
    • Ability to thrive on continual change and come up with new ideas to create business improvements and growth opportunities.
    • Ability to energize others with ideas and improvements for change to ensure change happens with speed and agility.
    • Will actively seek to understand other points of view and collaboratively build solutions.
