About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Estates and Facilities team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for commissioning, project managing and delivering Trust capital projects
  • Client engagement in delivering projects
  • Developing feasibility studies and project briefs
  • Managing departmental project staff and external professional consultants
  • Liaising with statutory authorities on projects and property management
  • Communicating with and providing expert professional advice to key stakeholders
  • Membership of the Senior Management Team and support for the delivery of an integrated Capital and Property management function for the Trust
  • Leading on the provision of a comprehensive property management service for the Trust

Person Specification

Qualifications and Education

  • Masters Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in Building Surveying, Engineering or construction related discipline
  • Chartered Member of appropriate building/engineering related Professional Institution
  • Post graduate construction/property management knowledge gained through training and experience to Master's equivalent level
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and management/leadership development

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of working in a similar role within an Estates or Facilities team
  • Demonstrable experience of having managed teams, operational budgets, and multiple construction or refurbishment projects
  • Able to demonstrate experience in providing expert advice at a senior level on property and construction matters
  • Experience of successful negotiation and contract management
  • Experience of completing business cases for Capital investment
  • Significant experience in planning and delivery of capital programmes
  • Strong track record in managing schemes to time and budget
  • Awareness of current legislation and guidance for NHS properties
  • Good knowledge of industry standard building construction contracts
  • Good working knowledge of Local Authority Planning rules and the Building Regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of public sector construction frameworks and EU procurement regulations
