We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse to join our dynamic and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the continued development of our service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including angiography, pacemakers, and cardioversions.
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and investigative procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Contribute to the effective running of the Cardiac Catheter Lab and Recovery Area, ensuring seamless patient flow and efficient use of resources.
- Develop and implement individualized education and psychological support plans for patients and their relatives, promoting patient empowerment and self-management.
- Collaborate with other specialties to ensure consistent management of patients, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with current research and evidence-based practices in cardiology and nursing.
- At least two years of post-registration experience in a cardiac or acute care setting.
- Experience in acute cardiology is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain high standards of patient care, ensuring patient safety and dignity at all times.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
