Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Financial Controller to join our finance team at a prestigious hotel in Reading. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing financial support to senior managers and department heads, ensuring financial controls are adhered to, and supervising key areas such as cost control, income audit, and accounts payable/receivable.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily running of the finance team and provide financial support to senior managers and department heads
- Ensure financial controls are adhered to in line with corporate standards
- Supervise key areas such as cost control, income audit, accounts payable/receivable, and more
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accurate general ledger postings
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and analysis
- Use financial data trends and market insights to recommend actions that maximize returns
- Support external and statutory audits as needed
- Degree in Business/Finance or equivalent work experience
- Experience in hotel accounting
- Experience with financial software such as Opera/Micros, Dynamic, or similar
- Strong knowledge of finance, budgeting, and accounting processes
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage a finance team
- Competitive salary of £35,000
