Strategic Financial Advisor - Public Health

Kent County Council is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Financial Advisor to join their Public Health team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in championing the council's financial strategies and processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the strategic oversight of the Public Health budget, providing financial advice and support to the Director of Public Health and relevant Cabinet portfolio holders. This will involve monitoring compliance with ring-fenced grants, financial appraisal of policy options, and preparation of the public health budget and medium-term financial plan.

The ideal candidate will hold a CCAB qualification or have extensive relevant experience at a senior level in a complex organisation. They will possess a good understanding of local government finance legislation, processes, and procedures.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position (37 hours per week) with the option to work part-time on a flexible basis. The primary location is Maidstone, with hybrid working arrangements.
