Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Pharmacist to join our Liver Pharmacy Team at Kings College Hospital.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and enthusiastic pharmacist to provide specialist pharmacy services to our in-patient liver wards and liver theatres. The post holder will also participate in pharmacist-led outpatient clinics, providing expert advice to healthcare professionals and patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Hepatology
  • Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in the hepatology care group
  • Develop and participate in outpatient clinics to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds
  • Supervise and train pharmacy staff at ward level
  • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals
  • Financial reporting, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting
  • Participate in practice and clinical research and audit
Requirements
  • MPharm (Masters Degree)
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the area of practice
  • Experience of working with senior healthcare professionals outside of pharmacy
  • Experience of supervising others
  • Experience of protocol/guideline development
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Ability to provide complex information on medicines use, clinical pharmacy, and financial issues
  • Ability to implement and manage change
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Registered independent prescriber or willingness to complete
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Able to motivate self and others
  • Member of the RPS faculty
  • Demonstration of advanced practice using evidence mapped to the RPS Advanced Practice Framework
