Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Leonardo. As a key member of our Servicing and Support line of business, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support on quality assurance and quality control matters to the Programme and Integrated Project Team (IPT).
  • Support the Principle Product Assurance Engineer in driving objectives to meet or exceed targets, including LPS/KPI goals, QL4 effectiveness, supplier and customer timely RCCA.
  • Contribute actively to IPT requirements to deliver a compliant product in a timely manner, meeting all cost and safety requirements.
  • Support the creation of Project Assurance Plans (PAP) defining project assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity, and Improvement within the Programme and associated Pro-operating in line with the requirements of the Operational Framework.
  • Provide leadership to the Assurance Teams to meet Programme and IPT objectives.
  • Actively ensure LPS goals for Quality KPIs, including QNs, MRB, FRBs, etc., are achieved by supporting improvement plans and active management of key activities such as MRB, etc.
  • Lead the Assurance function's improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product, and Project Lifecycle.
  • Mentor others to grow Quality excellence within the Programme.
  • Successfully apply interpersonal skills to positively influence behaviours within Quality at individual and team levels.
  • Attend and contribute to key meetings, including IPT, morning meetings, DPU forums, Engineering WO meetings, etc.
  • Take leadership in ensuring concessions/production permits are processed correctly and in a timely manner, directly supporting where required.
  • Support the achievement of project assurance milestones within the Programme, Product, and Project lifecycle.
  • Ensure the delivery of reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project, and function in a timely manner.
  • Actively manage root cause and corrective action investigations by taking lead on key FRBs, SCARS, and customer complaints.

Requirements:

  • Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly complex industry.
  • Demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100/ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement.
  • Some knowledge and practical experience of Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, and First Article Inspection.
  • Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that support business goals, in the language of the business.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience working in high-precision manufacturing environments.
