Job Details

Optical Assistant

Network Open is seeking a skilled Optical Assistant to join their team in Plymouth, Devon. As an Optical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the optometrist and carrying out dispensing visits to patients in care homes and their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the optometrist in carrying out dispensing visits to patients in care homes and their own homes.
  • Carry out dispensing and aftercare visits to patients in care homes and their own homes.
  • Work independently to carry out fittings and aftercare visits to patients in care homes and their own homes.
  • Provide a sympathetic and empathetic approach to patients, many of whom are elderly and may be unwell.

Requirements:
  • Experience as an Optical Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Confident driver with a full driving licence for at least 2 years.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
