Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatrician to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our paediatric department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive clinical care to patients on the paediatric ward, including acute admissions and shared care for surgical, orthopaedic, and dental patients.
  • Participate in ward rounds on the general paediatric wards, neonatal unit, and transitional care.
  • Support junior colleagues in the examination of newborn babies, resuscitation, and care of patients on the neonatal unit.
  • Contribute to outpatient sessions with Paediatric Consultants, providing new patient assessments and care.
  • Work collaboratively with Consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full MRCPCH qualification.
  • Satisfactory completion of F1/F2 post or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of paediatric experience (excluding foundation training).
  • At least 6 months tertiary neonatal experience.
  • APLS and NLS qualifications.
  • Level 2 safeguarding training.
