Astute People is seeking a highly skilled Fuel Quality Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Energy from Waste power station in Leicestershire and a new site in Cheshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing fuel quality, conducting supplier visits, and supporting the Operations Team in monitoring and reporting non-conforming waste/fuel quality.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee Fuel Supply Agreements: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and negotiate with suppliers as needed.
- Conduct Supplier Visits and Audits: Regularly visit suppliers to assess their performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support Operations Team: Collaborate with the Operations Team to monitor and report non-conforming waste/fuel quality, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor Samples and Compliance: Ensure that fuel samples meet regulatory requirements and Calorific Value standards.
- Coordinate Fuel Delivery Schedules: Manage logistics and fuel delivery schedules to ensure seamless operations when the plant is offline.
- Relevant Qualifications: Possess a relevant Waste Management qualification, such as WAMITAB or COTC.
- Industry Certifications: Hold IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
- Experience: Proven experience in Fuel Supply Agreements or Contracts, with a strong understanding of the UK Waste Market and related policies/legislation.
- Commercial Skills: Possess strong contract and commercial management skills, including bid management and KPI monitoring.
