D R Newitt & Associates is a progressive and innovative organization in search of a skilled Senior Engineering Leader to become part of our team. Our clientele spans multiple sectors, necessitating cutting-edge engineering solutions and strict adherence to industry regulations.
Role Overview:
In the capacity of Senior Engineering Leader, you will spearhead the maintenance and engineering division, enhancing performance against critical KPIs while managing a committed team of engineers.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the engineering budget, ensuring compliance with health & safety standards, and playing a crucial role in ongoing improvement initiatives throughout the department.
This position demands a hands-on leadership approach, where you will guide your team and collaborate closely with other departments to achieve engineering excellence.
You will be responsible for a total team of 15 individuals.Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and surpass engineering KPIs.
- Daily management of the engineering department at our Airdrie facility.
- Oversee and manage the engineering budget.
- Collaborate with the Head of Engineering and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Lead engineering projects that support business goals.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance the engineering team's performance.
- Advocate for and implement lean methodologies and processes.
- Ensure effective responses to Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs.
- Manage and maintain the PPM system (MMP) and contractor compliance via Q rims.
- Support the development of group engineering strategy.
- Ensure health & safety compliance within the department and manage related documentation.
- Collaborate with other managers to deliver solutions and report on engineering activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in managing large teams within a food or similar FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Extensive background in budget management and cost control.
- Proficiency in engineering systems management (MMP and Qrims).
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, resource planning, and metal detection principles.
- Ideally, you will possess an engineering degree or a minimum of HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Health & Safety qualifications and/or significant experience in this area.
