About the Role

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will play a key role in the operation, development, and improvement of the IT Security standards, procedures, and policies that comprise the University Information Security Management Systems and IT Security Policy Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of IT security strategies and policies to protect the University's digital services from cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues to operate, maintain, and assess security enforcing systems across the University IT Services environment.
  • Provide specialist expertise on information and cyber security to defend the University's digital services from cyber-attack.
  • Work with third-party vendors to ensure the security of services provided to the University.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of developing technologies and their impact on existing systems architecture.
  • Lead and supervise the cyber security team to ensure proper IT system and data security is practised at all times.
  • Manage and coordinate the response to Cyber Security incidents and investigations, managing them professionally, including computer forensics for evidence gathering and preservation.
  • Review and monitor configuration baselines for UAL University IT Services infrastructure and systems and contribute to their continuous improvement.
  • Provide support for the ongoing enhancement and delivery of SOC.
  • Assess security infrastructure, network, and systems design to evaluate and identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications, and new technology initiatives.
