Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Protection and Control Technician Senior to join our team at Luminant Generation Company LLC in Midlothian, Texas. As a critical member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting protection and control equipment to ensure the safe and efficient production of electricity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and calibrate protective relays, instrument transformers, meters, and associated control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and address issues with plant protection and control equipment using schematics and technical expertise.
  • Document all projects, fieldwork, and equipment updates in a detailed and organized manner.
  • Install upgrades and maintain diverse technical expertise in plant protection relaying and associated control circuits.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest equipment configurations and revise associated drawings as needed.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests on electrical equipment to identify and resolve potential issues.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology (power industry focus preferred) with 4 years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to travel, work extended hours, and respond to call-outs.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in variable conditions.
