Lead Nurse for Neurological Long-Term Care
An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a senior clinical nurse specialist with substantial experience in supporting individuals with chronic neurological conditions. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of neurological care while providing guidance to the clinical nurse specialist team.
The primary objective of this position is to supervise the establishment of a specialized service that consistently and sustainably improves the experiences of patients and caregivers dealing with neurological health challenges.
The incumbent will lead a multidisciplinary neurological team, ensuring the delivery of expert, high-quality advice and support in neurological care.
The Team Lead will also serve as a clinical authority in neurological care, particularly in the management of Parkinson's disease, exercising a high level of personal and professional independence and making critical judgments to meet the expectations and demands of the role. Additionally, the post-holder will act as a valuable resource on neurological care matters for healthcare professionals throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enhance the standards of neurological care by promoting the development of practices and strengthening leadership to ensure that patients with chronic neurological conditions and their families/caregivers receive a quality experience, including comprehensive assessments and tailored care plans.
2. Oversee and support the team in the creation and execution of a consistent and effective service, aiming to improve outcomes in neurological care across the organization.
3. Act as a clinical expert in Parkinson's care, providing specialized advice at both clinical and strategic levels.
4. Collaborate with the Consultant Nurse and other multidisciplinary team members to advance neurological care at clinical, organizational, and network levels.
5. Work alongside the Matron and Consultant Nurse to support the professional development of staff caring for patients with neurological needs.
6. Partner with the Consultant Nurse to contribute to clinical governance through practice development initiatives.
7. Collaborate with the Consultant Nurse in formulating and implementing strategies for neurological care.

Qualifications and Experience

- Registered nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience.
- Post-registration qualification in a relevant specialist field.
