Senior Piping Designer Job Description

Aker Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Piping Designer to join our team in Aberdeen, UK. As a Senior Piping Designer, you will play a key role in the design and development of piping systems for our clients in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out engineering design tasks in a professional manner, ensuring technical quality and safety integrity is maintained.
  • Prepare project deliverables according to Aker Solutions procedures, systems, and tools.
  • Develop and execute modification project scopes of work for the piping discipline.
  • Liaise with client project and facilities engineering to develop and execute modification project scopes of work for the piping discipline.
  • Ensure delivery according to schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company QA/QC procedures.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND degree from a piping background or similar with solid experience in front-end studies, FEED, and/or EPCI projects from the energy sector.
  • Track record in Piping Designer role(s) from a minimum of one FEED, E&P, or EPC project.
  • Ability to input and control pipe information in 3D models, (E3D/PDMS or Navisworks).
  • Capable of making and checking of 2D drawings in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Ability to manage and plan own work scope.
  • Hard working, conscientious individual capable of working on one's own initiative.
  • Good communicator and team player.
  • Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude.
  • A commercial mindset.
  • The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements.
  • The competency to be accurate, flexible, and organized.
  • Knowledge of relevant Norwegian regulations and standards preferred but not essential.
