Job Title: Compliance Policy Manager

Job Summary:

The West Brom is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Policy Manager to join our Risk team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing sound, accurate, and commercial advice on regulatory matters affecting the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a small team of Compliance Business Partners.
  • Develop and extend the team's knowledge and competence in technical areas to minimize the impact of staff turnover and maintain continuity of support.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the business on technical regulatory issues, utilizing broad financial services knowledge to contribute to policy changes to in-house regulations.
  • Ensure that the Society attains the highest standards of conduct and data protection regulatory compliance in all areas of business operation.
  • Provide subject matter expert advice on all conduct-related regulatory sourcebooks and provide horizon scanning overviews of relevant Prudential Compliance matters.
  • Meet regulatory/legislative timescales by providing well-structured, well-considered summaries of proposed regulatory change to the business and collating responses to the regulator as required.
  • Participate in and at times lead Society projects and initiatives in support of improving processes and products offered to customers.

Requirements:

  • Previous retail banking/building society experience and exposure to Compliance/Risk activity.
  • Proven team leadership experience.
  • Regulatory/Compliance examinations essential, e.g. FPC, CeMap, AdvCeMap, CERGI.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with and present to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • High level of computer literacy.
