We are seeking a dedicated and positive individual to join our team of Personal Support Assistants (PSAs) who play a crucial role in enabling individuals to maintain their independence.
The ideal candidate will assist with various daily activities and tasks tailored to the individual's needs, including personal care, household chores, and community engagement.
Compensation and Hours:
The position offers a competitive rate of £13 per hour, with flexible scheduling options available, totaling up to approximately 18 hours per week. Coverage is required for morning and evening routines, as well as daytime activities throughout the week.
Key Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will include supporting daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, assisting with household management, and facilitating community outings. You will also engage in various activities that promote well-being and independence, including shopping, DIY projects, and recreational outings.
Building a strong rapport with the individual is essential, as it allows for a better understanding of their preferences and needs. We value team members who are enthusiastic, share a sense of humor, and can motivate and encourage the individual to achieve their goals while recognizing when rest is necessary.
While most interactions will be on a one-on-one basis, teamwork will also be a part of the role. Training will be provided through on-the-job experiences, shadowing, and potential formal training opportunities.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Trustworthy and reliable.
- Able to foster a positive relationship and understand the individual's needs.
- Enthusiastic, motivating, and fun to work with.
- Comfortable around dogs and willing to adhere to guidelines regarding interactions with a service animal.
- Flexible, with strong communication skills.
- Independent and capable of using initiative while respecting the individual's preferences.
- Experience in personal assistance is a plus, but a willingness to learn is paramount.
- Possession of a valid driving license is preferred for transportation purposes.
- Empathetic and capable of providing support in sensitive situations.
- Willing to engage in various activities that promote mental health and well-being.
- Organized and attentive to detail.
- Vaccinated and open to future vaccinations to ensure safety.
