Personal Care Assistant

We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic, and empathetic Personal Assistant (PA) to join our small team of PAs who enable our customer to live independently.
Our customer has variable impairments that restrict their mobility and dexterity, cause constant pain and fatigue, and can impact their cognitive and mental ability.
As a PA, you will be assisting our customer to engage in day-to-day activities and to complete tasks that will vary based on time/day/needs.
You will build a good relationship with our customer so that you can understand what is important to them and for them.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, and flexible, with good written and verbal communication skills.
Previous PA(care) experience is desirable, but personality and willingness to learn are more important.
You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis and also require some team working.
Training will mostly be on the job with some job shadowing and some more formal training a possibility.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure which will be funded through your employer.
We are looking for someone who cares about supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Our ideal candidate will be able to tick a few items on our perfect PA wishlist.
They will be able to work independently and use their own initiative when required, while respecting our customer's wishes and needs.
They will be comfortable with dogs and willing to follow strict rules on all interactions with our customer's trainee Assistance Dog.
They will be happy to participate in a variety of activities to support our customer's goals and mental health.
They will be a good listener, non-judgmental, with experience or understanding of mental health issues, and okay with sudden changes of plan.
They will be organized, tidy, quick to learn where things belong, and to return them to their homes for our customer.
They will be vaccinated and willing to have vaccines in the future in order to protect our customer from viruses.
They will be a navigator for rallying with the caravan.
They will not be a Tory, Reform, and/or Trump supporter.
