Job Summary

Tax Justice UK is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our advocacy and policy efforts. As the Head of Advocacy and Policy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to advance our mission of promoting a fairer and more equal tax system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a political strategy to build support for tax reform and advocate for policy changes that benefit low- and middle-income individuals and families.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parliamentarians, civil servants, and political advisors, to influence policy decisions and shape the tax agenda.
  • Work with the External Affairs team to ensure cohesive and impactful campaign goals and movement work.
  • Develop and coordinate policy for the organization, including researching and analyzing tax policy issues, identifying opportunities for reform, and developing policy briefs and other materials.
  • Support our campaigns and advocacy efforts, including developing campaign strategies, coordinating with other organizations, and engaging with the media.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of achieving policy change and influencing decision-makers.
  • Strong understanding of tax policy and its impact on low- and middle-income individuals and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
