About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced New Product Introduction Specialist to join our team at Tyman UK & Ireland. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful launch of new products and ensuring that all departments work within a robust framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement NPI Framework: Establish a comprehensive framework for new product introduction, ensuring that all departments work together seamlessly.
  • Manage NPI Activities: Oversee NPI activities, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques to ensure that new products meet required specifications and manufacturing processes are robust.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Design & Development, Product Management, and other teams to plan and execute NPI activities.
  • Define and Utilize APQP Tools: Define the framework and utilize APQP tools and techniques at the right time during the product introduction process to ensure products are right first time.
  • Ensure Timely Completion of Activities: Ensure that NPI activities are carried out in a timely manner, in accordance with planned activities and the Tollgate process.
  • Review and Flag Issues: Review all processes, documentation, test reports, and test results in a timely manner, flagging any issues of concern to the business or escalating for resolution.
  • Ensure Customer Requirements are Met: Ensure that the results of validation tests meet customer requirements prior to full manufacture.
  • Highlight and Track Risks: Highlight, track, and advise the business on any risks to the project or business in a timely manner.
  • Establish Supplier and Product Approval: Work with Purchasing to establish a robust system of supplier and product approval in each country where product is sourced outside of TSA's scope of activity.
  • Liaise with ERA Supply Chain and Suppliers: Liaise with ERA supply chain, suppliers, and when relevant, TSA to ensure NPI activities are completed in accordance with planned intent.
  • Develop and Own Processes and SOPs: Develop and own effective and robust processes and standard operating procedures, ensuring harmonization within the ERA IMS.
  • Conduct Audits and Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Conduct internal and external audits, identifying opportunities for improvements and non-conformances, and agreeing effective corrective action plans with the ERA Product Quality Manager.
  • Ensure Effective Handover to Product Quality Team: Ensure an effective handover to the Product Quality team, making all required documentation available for reference.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of APQP and PPAP Processes: Proven knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes, tools, and techniques, with experience of applying and working with the same.
  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Proven experience of manufacturing processes associated with hardware products similar or equivalent to ERA products.
  • Engineering Drawing and GD&T Knowledge: Ability to read engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&T.
  • IT Numeracy and Microsoft Office Skills: IT numerate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Engineering Qualification and Problem-Solving Skills: An ambitious degree-qualified engineer with a logical, systematic mind, and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: Ability to manage time effectively, ensuring that business priorities are identified and actioned.
