Overview: Our Automation & Digitalization divisions execute projects across diverse sectors such as Nuclear, Food & Beverage, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Energy/Renewables, Metals, and Utilities.

Role Summary: We are seeking a Technical Manager to enhance our team in Chesterfield, responsible for delivering technical and quality guidance to a group of 25 engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Automation, Project Managers, and Engineering teams.
  • Oversee the successful execution of technical components of projects managed by the Automation team.
  • Manage the performance and development of Engineers, including appraisals, training planning, and employee welfare.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct Project Surveillance audits, including design validation and solution reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to standards, policies, and procedures throughout project execution.
  • Provide training to the team on quality systems and their application.

Project Management:

  • Support the Head of Automation and Project Managers in developing and implementing project strategies.
  • Assist the Business Development team in identifying opportunities through client interactions and presentations.
  • Manage internal digitalization initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in delivering engineering projects across various industries.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of multi-vendor systems.
  • Experience in a Technical Management or equivalent leadership role.
  • Strong background in line management and engineer development.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle from specification to commissioning.
  • Experience in enhancing and supporting quality systems.
