Overview: Our Automation & Digitalization divisions execute projects across diverse sectors such as Nuclear, Food & Beverage, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Energy/Renewables, Metals, and Utilities.
Role Summary: We are seeking a Technical Manager to enhance our team in Chesterfield, responsible for delivering technical and quality guidance to a group of 25 engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Automation, Project Managers, and Engineering teams.
- Oversee the successful execution of technical components of projects managed by the Automation team.
- Manage the performance and development of Engineers, including appraisals, training planning, and employee welfare.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct Project Surveillance audits, including design validation and solution reviews.
- Ensure adherence to standards, policies, and procedures throughout project execution.
- Provide training to the team on quality systems and their application.
Project Management:
- Support the Head of Automation and Project Managers in developing and implementing project strategies.
- Assist the Business Development team in identifying opportunities through client interactions and presentations.
- Manage internal digitalization initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in delivering engineering projects across various industries.
- Extensive technical knowledge of multi-vendor systems.
- Experience in a Technical Management or equivalent leadership role.
- Strong background in line management and engineer development.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
- Comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle from specification to commissioning.
- Experience in enhancing and supporting quality systems.
