Equity Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equity Officer to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital. As an Equity Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Associate Director of Health Equity in developing, delivering, and embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
Main Duties- Manage relationships within the Trust and between the Trust and its partners locally and regionally, ensuring excellent communication and working relationships are maintained and relevant information and data is available to inform and promote the delivery of health and workforce ED&I programmes.
- Proactively work with clinical service leaders and health and social care professionals within the Trust and the wider health and care system to help reduce health inequalities in the populations we serve.
- Proactively work in partnership with senior managers and staff networks to develop a Trust-wide ED&I service and long-term strategy that supports the Trust's clinical and workforce strategies and overall vision and objectives.
- Function as the subject matter expert for interpreting ED&I standards, legislation, ensuring staff, clinical service, and corporate support service leaders understand their collective and individual responsibilities.
- Work with local and national partner organisations to promote reduction in health and workforce inequalities in Trust, system, and national priority areas.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of culture change imperatives in the Trust; leadership and management development; talent management approach; and the staff performance management framework consistent with the vision and values of the organisation.
North Middlesex University Hospital is part of North Central London integrated care system, consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey. We are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level.
Person Specification- Education degree level or related transferable experience.
- Excellent IT skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Highly developed specialist knowledge in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion work procedures, underpinned by theory and experience.
- Experience and/or demonstrated interest in improving workforce equality with knowledge of the WRES and WDES.
- Knowledge of equality, diversity, and inclusion policy agenda, legislation, and best practice to level.
- Experience of conducting and/or advising on Equality Impact Analysis (EIAs) and Equality Deliver System (EDS).
- Experience of planning and organising complex EDI activities or programmes of work.
- Experience of developing and delivering training to a wide range of internal audiences.
- Ability to identify/research new developments in EDI and translate these into practical applications.
- Ability to communicate highly complex/sensitive or contentious information to large groups as part of public or staff engagement, training, or management development.
- Ability to effectively manage, organise, and priorities own workload and meet set deadlines.
