NHS Ayrshire and Arran is making significant investments in our Acute Medicine services, creating opportunities for exceptional consultants to join our distinguished Acute Medicine team and influence our long-term vision for these vital services, which are integral to the Board's ambitious strategic plan.
Our Organization is characterized by a strong commitment to quality, culture, and values, alongside a well-established integrated working system across health and care sectors that sets a national benchmark. We boast a highly engaged, skilled, and dedicated workforce, and through our strategic vision, we aim to reform our health and care system to deliver excellence and quality to the people we serve.
Our Acute Medicine initiative began with a comprehensive redesign of the patient journey, aligning with the Society of Acute Medicine standards. To facilitate these enhancements, we have established Combined Assessment Units that integrate Ambulatory Care services, further elevating the quality of care provided. Continuous improvements in consultant assessment times confirm our progress, positioning our service among the best nationally, complemented by a robust training profile and increasing trainee placements.
Leadership in Critical Care is provided by our Acute Medicine team, who work in close collaboration with Intensive Care colleagues, significantly enhancing critical care services and expanding training opportunities.
Future Development of our Acute Medicine services in Crosshouse is a priority, as we strive to create a unified service model across our sites. This presents a chance to redesign a superior service for our community and staff.
