We are in search of a proactive individual with exceptional organizational capabilities, who can engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders to collaboratively achieve our organizational goals.
This pivotal role will be at the forefront of significant initiatives and policies aimed at supporting governmental objectives, as well as fostering and maintaining foreign investment. A flexible team player, you will need to demonstrate resilience and adaptability to navigate changing circumstances and stringent deadlines.

You will be responsible for engaging local partners and the Department for Business and Trade network within a designated geographical area.
The capacity to lead and influence a variety of stakeholders is essential to ensure the successful delivery of inward investment services, including managing inquiries and promoting local and national investment opportunities. You will leverage your understanding of the local landscape to provide briefings to Ministers and Officials on investment-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with colleagues within the Department for Business and Trade to assist regions in developing credible investment opportunities for major commercial sites and attracting foreign direct investment from overseas companies into local sectors.
- Utilize local networks to enhance the attraction and growth of foreign investment in the UK, which may include a variety of activities such as hosting visits from inward investors, conducting follow-up visits with existing investors, and organizing training sessions while building relationships with key influencers.
- Support the execution of locally managed investment projects in alignment with Department for Business and Trade guidelines.
- Secure local partner engagement and contributions for Department-led investment inquiries.
- Provide operational assistance to partners in the implementation of the Key Account Management Programme.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across the directorate to deliver a seamless service to local partners, maximizing investment opportunities.
- Generate accurate monthly investment performance reports and local intelligence to inform Ministers and Officials on investment-related issues.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in cultivating effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to engage with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to interpret data, statistics, and insights to inform policy effectively.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing tight deadlines, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Proficient in working independently, analyzing information, and making informed decisions.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in trade or investment delivery.
- Knowledge of project management principles.
- Background in policy development.
- Experience presenting to senior-level audiences.
- Familiarity with the local economic development landscape and engagement with Local Authorities or regional Investment Promotion Agencies.
Personal Attributes:
We are a collaborative team with a broad mandate, seeking an enthusiastic team player to join us. While you will focus on a specific region, you may be required to adapt to evolving priorities as they arise.
Core Competencies:
During the selection process, candidates will be evaluated against the following competencies:
- Effective Communication and Influence
- Team Collaboration

- Strategic Vision
Benefits:
In addition to a competitive salary, the Department for Business and Trade offers contributions towards a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme, tailored learning and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a culture that promotes inclusion and diversity.
