About the Role

CrossReach is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Worker to join our team at Morlich House, a supportive and vibrant environment for older ladies in Edinburgh. As a key worker for designated service users, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing care plans, assisting with personal and intimate care, and helping with the use of any aids or equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review care plans to meet the individual needs of service users
  • Assist with personal and intimate care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Help service users with the use of aids and equipment, such as walkers and wheelchairs
  • Liaise with health professionals as needed to ensure high-quality care
  • Support mental and physical activities, such as exercise and social events
  • Maintain a high standard of personal environment and effects
  • Monitor nutritional needs and assist with meal preparation and serving
  • Answer emergency calls and respond to service user needs
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to team discussions
  • Work on a rota basis, including weekends and evenings

Requirements

  • SVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent qualification
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Respect for Christian worship and ability to facilitate service users' attendance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
