Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our transmission projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of capital projects, including transmission 33-400kV circuits, from development to final closeout.
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring compliance with the SPEN Integrated Management System and SPT Projects Project Quality Plan.
  • Lead a team of project managers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including internal and external teams, to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Manage project risk, identifying and mitigating potential issues to ensure project delivery.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, ensuring accurate financial governance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, particularly CDM.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience in project management.
  • Significant experience in managing major projects in a comparable environment (energy, water, gas, telecomms).
  • Project management methodology experience or qualification.
  • Procurement processes and procedures.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Financial control and forecasting.
  • Understanding of quality assurance processes.
  • Team management skills.
  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems and challenges.
