Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Global Payments. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for processing high-volume payroll for corporate locations and multiple subsidiaries on a semi-monthly, biweekly, and/or monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for corporate locations and multiple subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established practices and guidelines.
  • Maintain, process, and verify employee time and attendance detail, as well as manually process miscellaneous payroll adjusting entries.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain various other payroll-related matters and employee benefits, such as 401(k) and flexible spending accounts.
  • Issue pay to employees by entering manual adjustments, calculating earnings and deductions, and preparing computer input forms.
  • Compile data to process payroll, poll electronic time clocks, and review downloads for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and complete garnishment questionnaires, and provide information and reports for various areas of the organization and managers.
  • Employ a general understanding of State and Federal payroll tax laws, wage regulations, labor laws, and withholding order administration to provide assistance to team members with payroll and timekeeping-related questions.
  • Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors, and utilize Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and timekeeping systems to update team member information, process payroll, gather data, and generate reports.
  • Share knowledge, skills, and experience to assist in the training of junior payroll administrators.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Typically Minimum 4 Years Relevant Experience
  • Payroll and HRIS knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting
  • Typically Minimum 8+ Years Relevant Experience
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), or other relevant certification
Desired Skills and Capabilities
  • Skills / Knowledge - As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways.
  • Job Complexity - Works on assignments requiring considerable initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Supervision - Proposes methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader.
  • Oral and Written skills - Excellent communication skills
  • Technical ability - Microsoft Office; Human Resource Information Systems (Payroll, Time & Attendance)
  • Organizational skills - Ability to stay focused and organized with large amounts of data
