Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant Lead to join our team in London or Glasgow. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental coordination, assessment, and team management, with a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality environmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Environmental Work: Coordinate and deliver environmental work being undertaken by multi-disciplinary teams, including EIA, options appraisals, and environmental management.
  2. Team Management: Line manage a team of environmental professionals and liaise with Practice Management to coordinate the running of the Environmental Management team.
  3. Programme and Commercial Aspects: Responsibility for programme and commercial aspects, including budget control.
  4. Environmental Performance: Champion high standards of environmental performance within multidisciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal environmental outcomes.
  5. Client Management: Manage clients' needs in a confident, professional manner.
  6. Bid Preparation: Lead on bid preparation and develop new areas of business for the team.
  7. Continual Professional Development: Undertake Continual Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute and mentor colleagues.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Degree or Masters in an environmental or science subject.
  2. Chartered Status: Chartered with relevant post-graduate experience (ideally within a consultancy environment).
  3. Experience: Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
  4. Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the EIA process and environmental technical expertise.
  5. Leadership: Experience of leadership within multidisciplinary teams, report writing, verbal and presentation skills, and ability to review the work of others to ensure quality.
