Job Title: Personal Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Personal Development Specialist to join our team at East Sussex College. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our students, particularly those in ESOL programs.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity will involve working closely with curriculum staff to provide pastoral support to students, improving attendance, retention, and achievement. You will also facilitate and contribute to the delivery of a prescribed tutorial curriculum, developing students' broader skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pastoral support to students, improving attendance, retention, and achievement
  • Facilitate and contribute to the delivery of a prescribed tutorial curriculum
  • Develop students' broader skills and knowledge, contributing to their development as responsible, respectful, and active citizens
  • Support the identification and removal of barriers to learning through effective liaison and communication
Requirements:
  • Experience in identifying young people's needs and developing appropriate responses
  • Experience of advocating for young people
  • Experience and knowledge of professional practice in an educational environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Equality and Diversity and its importance within the College
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and its importance within the College
