About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Prisoner Escort Officer at our base in Bedford. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for providing safe and secure court transportation and custody services for adults, children, and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport and escort prisoners safely and securely to courts, ensuring their physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Manage the welfare of prisoners during court proceedings, including searching property and people, and ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met.
  • Prevent escape, self-harm, harm to others, and damage to property.
  • Ensure food and drink are available throughout the day.
  • Complete paperwork and data entry for the day.
Requirements
  • A current driver's license (B/B1 License).
  • Reasonable fitness level.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and control situations effectively.

Our Assessment Process

We use a comprehensive assessment process to ensure we find the right candidate for the role. This includes an online assessment, briefing call, competency-based virtual interview, and short role-play and written exercise.

Additional Information

All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and all offers of employment are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks with Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Barring) and satisfactory employment references.
