Are you skilled in the domestic abuse sector and committed to driving improvements and ensuring adherence to best practices? As a Lead Independent Domestic Violence Advisor, you will collaborate closely with the Vulnerabilities Manager to oversee the transition between service providers for the IDVA Service. This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience in contract initiation and oversight while advocating for service users' needs, ensuring their voices are prioritized in all aspects of your work.

Role Overview

Richmond and Wandsworth are currently in the process of restructuring their IDVA Service, necessitating a transitional phase to guarantee that service users continue to receive high-quality support. You will play a pivotal role in holding service providers accountable, ensuring adherence to best practices, and proactively preventing safeguarding challenges.

This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enhance their expertise in contract management. You will report directly to the Vulnerabilities Manager, working collaboratively to escalate issues appropriately and supervise the delivery and initiation of contracts as the new provider comes on board. Once the new provider is established, the Lead IDVA Advisor will have the exciting responsibility of ensuring a successful launch of the service, establishing essential networks to fulfill contract requirements.

When necessary, this role may involve managing or overseeing cases where there are concerns regarding high-risk service users or potential impacts due to changes in service provision.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Comprehensive understanding of domestic abuse and appropriate safeguarding responses in line with national standards.
  • Knowledge of the responsibilities of Local Authorities in addressing domestic abuse.
  • Proficiency in GDPR compliance and the management of sensitive information.
  • Experience in safeguarding within the context of domestic abuse.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders both within and outside the local authority.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a talent for quickly establishing strong relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks amidst competing demands.
