We are assisting our client, a well-established national organisation, in their search for a Transport Operations Manager to join their busy facility in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the resources required for the department, including drivers, schedules, and profiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and exceed expectations.
- Manage driver schedules and profiles in conjunction with supervisors and managers.
- Organise and execute successful driver recruitment throughout the year.
- Investigate and attribute costs to accident and damage reports in conjunction with accounts invoicing.
- Maintain all necessary reports, documents, schedules, and diaries.
- Plan and execute all movements in conjunction with the Operations Distribution office team.
- Ensure adherence to site health and safety procedures and uphold the drivers' compliance policy.
- Maximise drivers' hours while ensuring they are not exceeded, including accurate timesheet management.
- Manage drivers' hours and WTD regulations throughout the year.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in a Transport Management or Supervisor role.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of IT literacy.
