About the Role

The Government Recruitment Service is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Officer to join our team. As a Data Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Conduct data protection impact assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on data protection best practices.
  • Monitor and report on data protection compliance across the organization.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working in a data protection related role within an organization handling sensitive personal information.
  • Expert understanding of data protection legislation and its application in practice.
  • Leadership skills to set a direction for the organization and champion the importance of data protection compliance.
  • Ability to anticipate, assess and capture relevant risks, and design mitigations accordingly.
