Job Summary

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance Lead to join its Data Analytics Team (DAT). As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of data governance and security across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure the drafting and development of data exchange documentation, including MoUs, DPIAs, and CoRAs, in collaboration with cross-government stakeholders and Security & Information Business Partners.
  • Ensure all projects are compliant with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
  • Collaborate with GovDET and internal and external stakeholders to resolve data exchange issues.
  • Oversee assurance activity of the DAT portfolio, ensuring data security and governance compliance.
  • Embed a risk management culture within DAT, overseeing the implementation of a Tier 5 risk management framework.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of data security and GDPR principles, as well as experience in applying these principles in a compliance environment.
  • Experience in leading assurance or compliance activity, with a focus on data security and governance.
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders on data sharing initiatives.
  • Security clearance at SC level, with the ability to obtain clearance when appointed.
