Job Summary
Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Targeted Youth Support team as an Assistant Youth Support Worker. This part-time role involves working with young people in the Wyre & Fylde District, providing high-quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver core youth work, including detached/outreach working, special educational needs & disability support, and safe spaces for young people.
- Support the development of young people's skills and attributes, focusing on personal and social development rather than problem-solving.
- Work collaboratively with the Targeted Youth Support team to deliver a range of programs and services, including LGBTQ+ groups and mental health initiatives.
- Participate in district youth councils and link with Lancashire Youth Council to promote youth voice and representation.
Requirements
- Enthusiasm, organization, and passion for working with young people.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake a level 2 youth work qualification, with support from Lancashire County Council.
