Job Title: Transmission Summer Placement

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Regulation team as a Transmission Summer Placement. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the energy sector and contribute to the development of our transmission network.

About the Role

As a member of our Regulation team, you will play a key role in helping us understand the opportunities and barriers to delivering projects, new services, and consumer outcomes. You will work across a range of policy areas, including price controls, industry reform, and wider net zero policy.

You will support the team in the development and implementation of broader work packages, including the ASTI framework submissions and the enduring regulatory price controls.

SSEN Transmission owns and operates the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, transporting energy from where it is generated to where it is needed. We are playing a critical role in the transition to a low carbon future, developing, building, maintaining, and operating a network for net zero.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will be studying a degree in Economics, Law, Engineering, Sciences, or Politics. You will also have some practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team.

You will be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges. You should have a genuine interest in SSE and the prospect of a long-term future with us.
